R Walters Ltd provides estimating support from take-off to tender letter.
The estimating service is tailored to the client’s requirements and is presented as a fully detailed Excel cost build up accompanied by a comprehensive tender letter using the client’s livery.
The estimating service includes a comprehensive review of the estimate in order to establish labour rates, preliminaries costs, profit margins and advice on any value engineering opportunities.
The “package” of information provided includes the cost build up, tender letter incorporating contractual and technical clarifications, marked up drawings (when applicable) and a set of supplier and sub-contractor quotations along with an appraisal document.
- Attendance to post tender interviews
Compilation of a quantified schedule of rates - Attendance at handover of estimating information to engineers/project managers should the contract be secured
- Assistance with compilation of variation costs
- Set up and compilation of monthly project applications
- Compilation of “Activity Schedules”, Labour Histograms and Programmes
There may be occasions where a design would need to be “financially tested” in order to gauge the likely cost of a scheme and thus establish its affordability for a client. Such a service can also provide an independent benchmark against which to compare M&E sub-contractor tender submissions.
R Walters Ltd can provide an independent appraisal of M&E tender submissions to help Main Contractors and M&E Consultants make an informed selection and appointment.
Formal or informal training can be provided on an individual or group basis and can be tailored to suit the level of development required.

Design & Build schemes are “designed” in-house in order to provide a scheme to price against however should a “full design” service be required then R Walters Ltd would team up with Nexus Allied (www.nexusallied.co.uk & info@nexusallied.co.uk) for a “Chartered Engineer” standard of design.
